Kelly Pierce, a respected soccer coach and devoted mother of three, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, at the age of 43. Known for her passion for the sport and unwavering commitment to her children, Kelly left a lasting legacy within the Arizona soccer community. She was the head coach of Salpointe Catholic High School’s girls’ soccer team, leading them to six state championships and inspiring countless young athletes along the way.
Beyond her coaching accomplishments, Kelly balanced the challenges of single motherhood with grace and strength. In a March 2025 radio interview, she gave listeners a glimpse into her life, describing the everyday hustle of raising her sons—Tyler, Brady, and Camden—while coaching and managing daily responsibilities. Her authenticity and dedication resonated with many who knew her both personally and professionally.
Over two decades, Kelly served in various coaching roles across Tucson, including at Mountain View High School and FC Tucson Women. Her former colleagues and players remember her as a strategic thinker, a motivating leader, and a role model. “She was a talented and charismatic leader,” said FC Tucson Founder Jon Pearlman. Others praised her fairness, advocacy for gender equality in sports, and the strong relationships she built within her teams.
In the wake of her passing, the community has come together to support her family. A GoFundMe campaign has raised over $44,000 to benefit her two youngest sons, Brady and Camden, through a trust fund dedicated to their future needs. A memorial service honoring Kelly’s life will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 4 p.m. at the Salpointe Catholic Gymnasium in Tucson. Her legacy lives on through the athletes she coached, the community she uplifted, and the family she loved so deeply.
