Mom Blocked Our Delivery Spot and Told Us to “Work Around Her”—But She Quickly Got What She Deserved

I’m Bob, a 40-year-old construction foreman. We’ve been building a house halfway up a hill without road access, so everything lumber, tools, and materials has to be carried up by hand. Our only access point for deliveries is two clearly marked “No Parking” spots at the base of the hill.

One morning, I heard the lumber truck was just minutes away. When I arrived at the bottom, a mom in a white SUV was parked in one of the spots, waiting to pick up her kid from the nearby school. I politely asked her to move, but she rolled her eyes and said, “Take a chill pill, dude. I’ll just be a few minutes.” When the truck showed up, I asked her again, and she replied, “Can’t you just unload around me?”

So, we tried. I had the driver pull in as close to her SUV as possible. With the truck, a porta-potty, and another car around her, she was completely boxed in. About twenty minutes later, her kid arrived, and she had to awkwardly get out of the passenger side. Furious, she demanded we move the truck, but for safety reasons, we couldn’t.

Then karma hit. In a panic, she accidentally reversed into the porta-potty, then tried to drive over the curb and got stuck. A parking officer who had just arrived witnessed the entire scene. It turned out she was driving with a suspended license and was arrested right there. That evening, my crew and I cracked open cold drinks and laughed it off. Sometimes, all you need to do is smile and let karma do the heavy lifting.
