STORY1 : My grandmother was always harsh toward her oldest daughter — my mom’s sister. She constantly criticized and belittled her, and even as a child, I could tell it wasn’t fair. It seemed like she played favorites among her kids, but took it to an extreme with my aunt.
When I turned 20, I learned the truth: my grandmother had my aunt out of wedlock, before she ever met or married my grandfather. The mistreatment wasn’t random — it was because my aunt reminded her of a part of her life she wanted to forget.
I had already lost a lot of respect for my grandmother when I thought she was cruel for no reason. But once I knew the real reason behind it, I respected her even less.
STORY 2 ; My son died in an accident when he was 16. My husband, Sam, never shed a tear. Our family fell apart, and eventually, we divorced. Sam later remarried, and twelve years after our son’s death, he passed away too.
