For three years, Sarah sat alone on her birthday while her husband, Mark, always had an excuse. But this time, as she waited alone at their favorite restaurant, something inside her broke. When Mark finally showed up late—again—she told him it was over. She filed for divorce the next day, heartbroken and tired of feeling forgotten.

Two weeks later, Mark’s mother showed up unexpectedly and handed Sarah a mysterious address. Out of curiosity, she went—and found herself standing in front of a child’s grave. Lily, born and died on Sarah’s birthday. It turned out Lily was Mark’s daughter from a previous marriage, and each year, he mourned her alone, unable to celebrate while grieving.

Confronting Mark at the cemetery, Sarah finally learned the truth. He hadn’t forgotten her—he was just lost in his own pain. They sat together in the stillness, sharing memories, grief, and the quiet beginning of something new. Sarah realized he never stopped loving her—he just didn’t know how to balance sorrow and love.

A year later, they returned to Lily’s grave—together. They placed flowers, shared cake, and honored both Sarah’s birthday and Lily’s memory. At a small diner afterward, Mark gave Sarah a necklace with a lily pendant. “I’ll never miss another one,” he promised. And this time, she believed him.
